Is there any news of android 2.2 actually being released for the Samsung Fascinate for Verizon in America?

It's been a long while since I've heard any news at all about this; I know there is a way to update the phone unofficially, but I'm not willing to flash my phone. Is there any news about an actual release by Verizon, or have they just forgotten about the Fascinate here in America, while those in Canada with the phone enjoy the upgrade?
