Hornet sting, bad reaction or am i allergic?

I was stung on my foot while in the shower and it got pretty swollen and had little hives all over me mainly on my abdomen section and all the hospital gave me was benadril and an antibiotic to stop any infection, so am I allergic or just a bad reaction and I didn't have breathing problems, please help..
