What does it mean when a guy says...?

Don't take it personal, guys are like that. I went away for 10 days and my BF of officially 3 months, unofficially longer, did the same thing. When I was gone, he admitted that he missed me, but not before I left. Even now, we've both been busy with work and haven't seen each other in 5 days, but I know he misses me.
