Question about PC -> Xbox 360 streaming?

I recently realised I could stream media from my pc through xbox and thus through my tv. I tried to stream The Green Hornet which is an .avi file.. it simply doesn't show when I search for 'videos' on my xbox whilst The Green Hornet is in my 'video' section on my pc. help :(
