Brother stung by something.?

My brother was stung by something while outside working yesterday, we believe it was a hornet but not 100% positive. It is really, really swelled up and it's around his ankle. He isn't allergic but we're not sure what to do, he is 18. Not sure if that helps but it just might. Please someone answer today or so.
